How to nail your babe's monthly photos!
Welcome to another edition of Crib Talk, friends!
I turned 7 months last week and Mommy got out the ribbon and teddies for another monthly photo shoot. We always get such positive feedback on our photos, so we thought we'd share with you how we do these every month. Mommy really only spends about 10 minutes on the whole process. I don't really give her much more time than that!
Here is a quick list of the things you need:
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Tape
- A white sheet
- Stuffed animals (1 for every month)
- A camera (your smartphone will do)
- Super cute baby (that's me!)
I usually play on the floor while Mommy is getting everything set up. We set everything up on Mom and Dad's platform bed, but a big space on the floor would work just as well. Sometimes Chowder likes to jump on the bed and mess up the set. Bad Chow!
You'll want to cut your ribbon into pieces to form each letter. You can use tape to make certain ribbon pieces stick to each other if you want to define a point. It doesn't have to be perfect! The whole point is that it looks a little free flowing and funky.
Then you set up your animal friends! This month Paddington Bear joins the party. We started off with Lambantha when I was one month old. Then we added Teddy, Scruffy the Dog, Henrietta the Hippo, Boston Bear, Peppers the Michigan Bear, and now my good friend, Paddington.
You'll want to test ahead of time to make sure your animals and ribbon all fit into the photo frame. As you can see here, they need to be moved in a bit. It's a lot easier to do this before I'm added to the picture!
Now it's time to throw me in the mix! Make sure you have your camera ready. Mommy only has a couple seconds before I turn into a Tasmanian devil and start ripping up the scene. When I was younger I would just quietly lay there, but now I'm all over the place. Here we go!
Since we did this photo shoot on the weekend, Daddy was here to help. He's my favorite Teddy bear of all! Once we are done, Mommy looks through the photos and picks her favorite one. Then she will play with the lighting , up the contrast and brightness, and add some text on the bottom. All this can be done on your phone! Check out the final photo below.
