Getting real about those baby feels

The Sweetest Devotion I know...

Happy Friday everyone! Hopefully you're all as excited as I am to kick off the weekend. I have 2 of my greatest friends coming in town to visit, PLUS, the start of Sunday football! Ava James (a.k.a. Kitten Meow) has her outfit all ready to go.

If you follow me personally, you might have seen that last month my husband and I went to the ADELE concert at the Staples Center in LA. A normal person would have been stoked to hear they got FREE suite tickets to the most sought out concert of the year, but I was TERRIFIED. It meant leaving my sweet angel with a babysitter for the first time. We don't have family nearby and we actually really love spending time together as a little family so it's very rare that Ava James is hanging out with someone other than Mommy or Daddy.  The image below is the crazy I left behind for our very lovely and capable babysitters.

Anyway, Ava James was totally fine, I'm getting to the point I promise! Everything about the Adele concert was fantastic. It was truly about the music. She really took the time to let you in on her life by chatting it up in-between songs. By the end of the concert I felt like Adele and I were besties. Before the concert, I never know Adele's song "Sweetest Devotion" was about her little boy. She went on to talk about how she wrote this whole album of songs about her son, and she knew in her heart they weren't GREAT. Sweetest Devotion, however, made the cut, and I pretty much started bawling when she began singing. It was crazy how much I connected with Adele on this song.

Maybe I'm a bad Mommy for even admitting it, but I never dreamed of being a mother. I remember being 39 weeks pregnant and wanting that baby to stay inside me forever. I simply wasn't ready for what was coming after. I was terrified at how my life was about to change forever. While I didn't have that magical, fall in love right out of the womb moment (I was exhausted!) I DID quickly fall in love with my little girl. "I find it funny that you're the only one I never looked for." "I wasn't ready then, I'm ready now."

So in honor of Adele, and the "explosion" that hit me, I'd like to give you this free download of a lyric art print I designed of an excerpt from Adele's "Sweetest Devotion". Hopefully you can connect with it the same way I can!

I will also be picking one lucky winner who I'll print this for on fancy paper and ship a copy to. Please leave a comment below and on my Facebook or Instagram to qualify. Have a FAB weekend!
